   looks like all the pictures in this series are drawn by the same artist.His use of colors freezes their muscles of facial expression.They are made to look like plastic toys.pickeled stars…dried and well preserved.;-)

   To my knowledge there are a hnadful of such artists in Ahmedabad and I met one of them once (DK) But as you point out they do possess a shared style.

   these are wonderful. this is in the style that hindi film hoardings used to be painted in – a wonderfully evolved, very stylised and extremely affecting style of pop art which is sadly now on its way out except, it seems, on rickshaw mudflaps! more power to these guys! i’d love to commission one for my house…

   Saug Dat – thanks for all your comments. Actually I’m hoping to design an exhibition later this year and commission these painters to get involved. Will post anything as it materialises.
